My wake up call—literally

My wake up call—literally

"Your mom has been in a car crash."

Yesterday, I woke up to a phone call that instantly shifted my world. Those words, spoken by a stranger who graciously stopped to help, sent a jolt through my entire being. In that split second, everything else faded into insignificance. The dishes in the sink, the unexpected snowfall after days of balmy weather—none of it mattered. All that mattered was getting to my mom and knowing she would be okay.

I'll admit, I almost didn't write this week's Thought Gem. The weight of yesterday's events hung heavy on my heart, and I questioned whether I had the strength to offer advice when my own world felt shaky. But then I realized that sometimes, the simplest messages are the most powerful.

So here it is: this week, don't sweat the small stuff. Seriously.

Take a step back, breathe, and put things into perspective. Focus on what truly matters—the safety and well-being of your loved ones. And while you're at it, hug them a little tighter. Show them how much they mean to you, not just with words, but with actions. Maybe even try one of those 30-second hugsyou'd be amazed at the warmth and comfort they can bring.

Life is unpredictable, and moments like these remind us to cherish what we have and let go of the insignificant worries that often consume us. So let's make a pact to navigate this week with grace, gratitude, and an abundance of love for those who matter most.

Wishing you all peace, strength, and endless love,

xoxo Tracy
