You feel it.
That quiet pull toward something you can’t quite name.
That whisper from deep inside saying, "Go."
That urge to step away—even if you don’t know why.
And then? Your brain jumps in to shut it down.
"Not the right time."
"Not practical."
"Not a priority."
So you push it aside and go back to what’s familiar.
But here’s the thing—the call doesn’t go away.
It just waits.
I Almost Ignored Mine
When I booked my retreat to Teotihuacan, Mexico, I had no logical reason for saying yes.
I just knew.
But my brain? It demanded answers.
"What if it’s a waste of time?"
"What if I don’t get what I’m hoping for?"
"What if it’s uncomfortable?"
(And let’s be real—it was uncomfortable.)
But it also cracked me wide open. It shifted something inside me that I didn’t even know needed shifting.
Because growth doesn’t happen in the predictable. It happens in the pause.
Why Retreating Might Be Exactly What You Need
We spend so much time doing that we forget to listen.
We expect clarity to show up in the middle of our busy lives—between meetings, errands, and responsibilities. But clarity doesn’t work like that.
It happens when we make space for it.
And that space? You have to choose it.
That’s why saying yes to retreating—whether that’s a full retreat, a weekend alone, or even just an intentional break—isn’t indulgent. It’s necessary.
I Believe in This So Much, I Co-Created One
That retreat was a personal journey, but it reminded me why I believe in the power of stepping away. It’s why I co-created Together We Rise—a space for women to retreat, reconnect, and reset.
I’ll be hosting more in the future, and when you’re ready to say yes to yourself, I’ll be here.
Your Invitation for the Week
This week, I invite you to step away from the noise—on purpose.
- Maybe it’s turning off distractions and giving yourself time to think.
- Maybe it’s saying no to something so you can say yes to yourself.
- Maybe it’s finally giving yourself permission to take a real break.
Whatever it is, let it be intentional.
Because the world will keep pulling at you. The demands won’t stop. The noise won’t quiet itself.
The only one who can give yourself permission to pause… is you.
Will you take it?
I’ll be sharing more about my transformational retreat experience in this Wednesday’s podcast episode.
