What do you think?
How many times have you asked that question recently?
Why do we do that?
I caught myself doing it the other day while trying to make simple dinner plans with a friend. Simple, right? Apparently not.
First I texted two other friends. Then I consulted Yelp. Then I tortured my husband with options. Then I went down a Google rabbit hole. At one point I even got in several fights with my assistant, Chatty G. I owe him an apology.
After all that, I sent my friend the final two choices and basically forced her to decide.
We ended up eating at the restaurant I had come across early in my search. The one that initially felt like the move. The one I had talked myself out of while I continued consulting outside sources.
I do not know why I do this.
I definitely did not do this when I was a little girl. I just knew. I confidently chose the games we would play. I mapped out the day for all of my friends. I flowed with it. I trusted it. I trusted me.
And now I spend my time empowering women to trust the answers within.
Circle of life.
This week, notice when you catch yourself asking the room what they think.
Before the group chat weighs in, before Yelp loads, before you drag three people into the decision, pause for a second and ask yourself first.
Your answer might be sitting there waiting.
We will talk more about this on the podcast this week.
Catch you Wednesday,
xo Tracy
