The Cycle

The Cycle

I've always loved this time of year.

Welcome to this week's Thought Gem — your reminder to pause, breathe, and choose your focus.

There's something about April that feels like permission. Especially in the Midwest in the US. The color comes back. The air changes. Everything that went dormant starts pushing through again and you remember, this is what alive feels like.

But this particular spring has followed a long and heavy winter.

Four months in and I've already said more goodbyes than I expected to. Some were people close to my age. Some were closer to home. All of them a quiet reminder of just how fragile and temporary and beautiful this life actually is.

Spring has a way of putting that into focus. New life showing up right alongside the reminders of what we've lost. That's the cycle. And it's humbling.

I'm not trying to be heavy. I promise this is going somewhere beautiful.

But I do think spring is asking something of us this year. Less postponing. Less spending our one precious life on things that won't matter in the end. More of the actual thing.

This week, just notice what's here. The coffee while it's hot. The conversation worth staying in. The moment you almost rushed past.

Spring is doing her thing. Are you doing yours?

We're going deeper on Wednesday. I'd love for you to join us on the podcast.

Catch you Wednesday,
