my fancy schmancy shoes let me down

my fancy schmancy shoes let me down

I have been walking a lot lately.

Welcome to this week's Thought Gem — your reminder to pause, breathe, and choose your focus.

Some days it is thirty minutes around the neighborhood. Other days it is closer to seven miles, which my left ankle has strong opinions about. I also recently learned that the big cushy walking on a cloud shoes are not always the move for long distances but that is a whole other conversation.

I love walking though. Always have. There is something about being outside, moving, not thinking too hard about anything, just putting one foot in front of the other. I have been known to listen to music, podcasts, and there is this Apple series called Time to Walk where celebrities and inspirational people take you on a walk with them and you just feel like you are catching up with a friend. I am basically best friends with people I have never met. The friendship is very real on my end. Ha!

Walking does something for me that is hard to explain. It clears things. It settles things. Sometimes it just gives me somewhere to put all of it for a little while.

And this week, on the pod, I am talking to someone whose walking puts mine to absolute shame in the most inspiring way possible. Her version of putting one foot in front of the other looked a little different than mine. Come find out how different on Wednesday.

Your invitation for this week:
Go take a walk. Even a short one. Put your phone away or put something good in your ears. Just move. Notice what shifts.

Catch you Wednesday,
xo Tracy
