derec-who?

derec-who?

This week a derecho came through our neighborhood.

Welcome to this week's Thought Gem — your reminder to pause, breathe, and choose your focus.

Which, until Tuesday, I had never heard of either. Some have referred to it as a land hurricane. A wall of violent straight line winds that will absolutely make sure you never forget it exists.

We lost power for thirty six hours. Some are without it still. And in the middle of no electricity and no scrolling, something unexpected happened.

Everyone came outside.

Twenty years in this neighborhood and I have never seen anything like it. And I kept thinking, why did it take a derecho.

In the calm of the storms (yes, plural) I also finally tackled the room I have been avoiding since we talked about the need to clean out my closet on the podcast. Baby steps. The cat hair situation under my bed was its own kind of natural disaster. The corporate clothes are still in the closet. We are not going to talk about that. Non-judgement zone right?

Between the storms and the neighbors and finally clearing out that room, it was one of those weeks where life just stripped everything back. Turns out there is a name for that kind of contentment. Come find out what it is on Wednesday.

Your invitation for this week:
Notice one thing you already have that you have been overlooking. It does not have to be big. Just real.

Catch you then,
xo Tracy
